O ENSAIO é uma busca de sentimentos perdidos: partindo de uma apresentação histórica de uma Itália recém-unificada, sob o espectro ameaçador da falta de trabalho - e a correspondente situação de um Brasil pós-escravagismo, necessitado de mão-de-obra, o foco desse estudo é considerar os estados de alma dos imigrantes e acompanhar as dramáticas peripécias de suas transmigrações. Reconhecendo a importância da música para constelar sentimentos coletivos e expressá-los, o autor interpreta trechos de ópera de Verdi e também, em clave subjetiva, cartões-postais familiares, trocados entre membros separados de uma mesma família partida, discernindo conflitos afetivos que vieram a contribuir para a formação do grande amálgama anímico brasileiro.<br>THIS ESSAY searches for lost feellings: beginning with an historical presentation of recently unified Italy, under the threatening specter of joblessness - and the corresponding situation of post-slavery Brazil, in need of manpower, the focus of this paper is to capture the immigrants's soul, observing the dramatic situation of their transmigrations. Acknowledging the importance of music to constellate and express collective feelings, the author interprets some pieces of Verdi’s operas, alongside with, on a subjective level, family postcards exchanged between members of broken families, focusing on affective conflicts that eventually contributed to the making of the great Brazilian animic amalgam.
