La biodiversidad es un atractivo para millones de turistas que viajan alrededor del mundo. Sin embargo la presión ejercida sobre la misma puede provocar la desaparición de especies o la interferencia en los procesos ecológicos que la sostienen. En la Patagonia Argentina encontramos territorios que conservan biodiversidad, las Áreas Naturales Protegidas, destinos turísticos ofrecidos a la demanda de este tipo de Turismo en Naturaleza. Los Servicios Turísticos, desde la perspectiva del Modelo Recreación y Turismo en Conservación y desde las Buenas Prácticas Ambientales, deben aportar a la protección de los sistemas naturales que usan, para asegurar la propia actividad y para mejorar los aspectos ambientales de la operación turística. Desde la asignatura Patrimonio Natural Regional (Facultad de Turismo, Universidad Nacional del Comahue), se propuso indagar en el conocimiento que las Agencias de viaje de Neuquén Capital, Provincia de Neuquén – Argentina, poseen acerca de las áreas naturales protegidas donde operan. La metodología utilizada fue la encuesta estructurada. Algunos resultados: 1-El 25 % de las agencias de viaje desconocen el nombre de las Áreas Naturales Protegidas (ANP) con las que operan.2-El 45 % de las Agencias confunden el nombre del ANP con ciudades o con atractivos visitados. 3-El 10 % de las agencias conocen el nombre del ANP donde trabajan. Algunas conclusiones: 1-Se realizarán capacitaciones a prestadores de servicios Turísticos de la ciudad de Neuquén en la temática Áreas Naturales Protegidas. 2- Se debería implementar asignaturas en relación a los Recursos Naturales en los últimos años de las carreras de Turismo para formar profesionales con mayores conocimientos científicos de los sistemas naturales y su conservación. However, overshoot at the environment might cause the extinction of species or the interference of the ecological processes that sustain them. In Patagonia Argentina, there are territories that conserve biodiversity, Natural Protected Areas, tourist destinations offered to the demand of this type of Tourism in nature. Touristic services, from the point of view of the “Model Recreation and Tourism in Conservation and best practices” have to contribute to the protection of the natural systems they use, to assure their own activity and to improve the environmental matters of the tourist operation. The subject Patrimonio Natural Regional (Facultad de Turismo, Universidad Nacional del Comahue), proposed to investigate the knowledge of the travel Agencies of Neuquén City, Province of Neuquén - Argentina about the Natural Protected Areas in which they operate. The Methodology used was a structured survey. Some of the results were: 1- 25 % of the travel agencies didn´t know the name of the Natural Protected Areas (NPA) in which they operate. 2- 45 % of the travel agencies confused the name of NPA with Cities or natural attractions visited. 3- 10 % of the travel agencies know the name of the NPA in which they work. Some Conclusions were: 1-The travel agencies and other Touristic services in Neuquén City have to be trained in Natural Protected Areas. 2-Higher Education for a degree in Tourism should implement subjects about Natural Resources in the later years in order to form professionals educated with more scientific knowledge on natural systems and Conservation.
